Lennar Unveils Kerry Ridge Townhome Community in Chicago Ridge
Development features transit-oriented location, decorated model
Lennar is proud to announce the grand opening of its latest transit-oriented community, Kerry Ridge, in southwest-suburban Chicago Ridge. Located across the street from the Metra train station, Kerry Ridge offers 58 multifamily townhomes.
Kerry Ridge features three floor plans ranging in size from 1,721 to 1,744 square feet. Both raised-ranch and three-story homes are available with two to three bedrooms, 2½ to 3 baths, eat-in kitchens, finished lower levels and attached two-car garages. The community is located off Ridgeland Ave., just south of Southwest Highway.
“Kerry Ridge is the perfect addition to our lineup of transit-oriented communities,” said Leigh Nevers, vice president of marketing for Lennar’s Chicago region. “Not only does it give buyers the chance to purchase a new-construction townhome in a suburb that offers very few other new homes, but it’s also right across the street from the Metra.
“For professionals who work downtown, a relaxing 40-minute Metra commute is a welcome respite from fighting traffic every day, especially with all the construction on the roads,” Nevers added.
In tandem with the community’s grand opening, Lennar also unveiled one townhome model at Kerry Ridge. The 1,744-square-foot Bradford is a raised-ranch home with three bedrooms, three baths, a two-car garage and a finished lower level.
“What’s so unique about our models, and what buyers find so refreshing, is that ‘what you see is what you get,’” Nevers said. “It’s part of our homebuilding logic, which dictates that buyers will get everything they want and everything they need included in the price of a Lennar home.”
Upon entering the Bradford, a half flight of stairs leads up to the main level, which includes nine-foot ceilings, a living room with a vaulted ceiling, eat-in kitchen, dining room with balcony, the master suite, a secondary bedroom and a hall bath.
Within the Bradford’s kitchen, a sampling of upscale features includes GE Clean Steel™ appliances, 42-inch staggered cabinetry with crown molding, a deep corner sink and a pull-out faucet. The master suite offers cultured marble European countertops, a double-bowl vanity and a walk-in closet.
A half flight of stairs down from the entryway is the finished lower level, which includes a full bedroom, full bath, laundry room, garage access and a family room. Throughout the entire home are six-panel colonist doors and trim.
Kerry Ridge offers two other floor plans, the three-bedroom Camden and two-bedroom Atwood. Both have three-level layouts that mimic each other in design, except the former includes an extra bedroom.
Nevers added that in addition to being drawn to Kerry Ridge’s great location and stylish designs, interested buyers have also been attracted to the community’s maintenance-free lifestyle. To free up buyers’ personal time, a monthly assessment provides for the care of green space, building exteriors, snow shoveling, refuse removal and common-area insurance.
“With less maintenance on their hands, buyers at Kerry Ridge have more time to enjoy the surrounding amenities such as Westfield Mall, AMC Movie Theatre, and the many parks and golf courses in the area,” Nevers said.
If residents don’t take the Metra to work, commuters will also appreciate Kerry Ridge’s proximity to Interstate 294. Moreover, residents are a short drive from Midway Airport and close to elementary, junior and high schools.
For buyers who want to move in this month, Kerry Ridge offers a selection of immediate-delivery homes.
To visit Kerry Ridge, take Interstate 294 to the 76th Avenue exit and travel east on West 95th Street. Turn right on Ridgeland Avenue past Southwest Highway, and Kerry Ridge will be located on the left at 6340 Birmingham Street. The community is also accessible via the Chicago Ridge Metra stop on SouthWest line. For more information, call or visit www.Lennar.com. The community is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Lennar is currently building 12 new-home communities throughout Chicago and its suburbs, including single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums.
